Excerpt from the Chancellor’s letter on the passing away:
It is my sad duty to inform you of the passing of our esteemed Knight Steven Scheffer. He passed away far too soon last Wednesday, 9 March 2022, at the age of 59, after a long and serious illness.
Steven was active until the end as deputy head of delegation of the Delegation Netherlands and was involved in building up the delegation. Even from his sickbed he attended the virtual meetings of the Grand Council of the Order and kept in touch with the Order of St George, which was a great purpose in his life. Also as Wing Adjutant, our brother of the Order was supportive at our major events and will always be remembered by all the Dames and Knights of the Order as helpful, sociable and a friend.
My sincere sympathy and that of all of us goes to his children Nikki, Lieke and Sem and to his dear wife and Dame of the Order Annemiek.
