Excerpt from the Chancellor’s letter on the passing away:
I have the sad task of informing you of the passing of our esteemed Knight of the Order and Vice-Commander of the Commandery International, KR Prof. Dr. h.c. Adalbert H. Lhota, who passed away on 5 September 2022 at the age of 77 after a long and serious illness.
KR Prof. Dr. h.c. Adalbert H. Lhota was for many years Chairman of the Board of Management of the Automobilclub von Deutschland e.V. and its affiliated subsidiaries, and later a director of Swarovski Holding AG and advisor to the entire Advisory Board. He also served as Honorary Consul of the Republic of Austria in Frankfurt am Main, responsible for the federal states of Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate. In this function he was also awarded the Golden Decoration of Honour for Services to the Republic of Austria.
Adalbert was admitted to the Order of St. George in Trieste in April 2013 and continued to contribute his contacts and expertise to the Order as Vice Commander of the Commandery International. For Adalbert, the Order had a particularly high value. With Adalbert, we are losing a truly respected functionary and brother of the Order. My sincere sympathy and that of all of us goes to all the family members.
